Reedy Creek – Suburb Profile

Reedy Creek, a rural/residential locality with increasing urbanisation in the early 2000s, is six km west of Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Its northern boundary is the Pacific Highway, following the former South Coast railway. At a point where the line crossed the creek there was a stopping place named Reedy Creek.

Reedy Creek is located 18 kilometres from Surfers Paradise and is situated in close proximity to Tallebudgera Valley.

The area features the rural lifestyle with acreage properties, while still being close to Burleigh and Robina, thus offering acreage living while still being close to the beach.

The area has a mix of existing and new housing developments. The Observatory estate is a new development, with hilltop views over forest towards the coast in both directions. The estate’s houses are mainly located on acreage properties.

Other estates in the Reedy Creek area include the Kingsmore, Old Burleigh Town and Somerset Estate.

There are a large number of families in the region.

There is a variety of public parks within the suburb, not to mention the vast array of other parks, beaches and nature reserves within a few minutes drive, including those at Burleigh Heads and Tallebudgera. Robina Town Centre is a major shopping centre located about five minutes drive from the suburb.

Educational facilities include Hillcrest Christian College, Gold Coast Adventist Primary School and Kings Christian College.

Access to the suburb is easily done via the Gold Coast Motorway, which runs adjacent to the suburb. Public transport is catered for with bus services and the railway station at Robina.
