Augustine Heights – Suburb Profile

Augustine Heights is a partly developed residential suburb at the far west of the vast Springfield housing region, 13 km south-east of Ipswich. On its eastern boundary there is St Augustine’s Catholic church and college (2003). Its western boundary is the Woogaroo Creek, along which there is a linear park, and another linear park runs parallel to the creek through most of the suburb.

Settled in amongst already-established suburbs including Regents Park, Crestmead and Boronia Heights, Park Ridge is set to boom with its family-friendly amenities and proximity to Brisbane’s CBD.

Augustine Heights had an estimated population of 200 in mid-2008. Several estate agents were promoting house/land sales during 2009. A short way south of Augustine Heights there is the Orion drive-in shopping centre, Springfield, and the suburb to its east, Brookwater, includes a well-regarded public golf course.Augustine Heights is positioned between two distinctly different suburbs. Belbird Park, formally named in 1984, has remained lightly developed (2009). Its population has a youngish median age of 32 and a median weekly income per resident of $472 (2006). Brookwater’s population has a similar median age, 33 years, and a median weekly income of $911. Augustine Heights’ family incomes were unrevealed in the 2006 census, when only 28 residents were counted.
